A look inside the early days at REYA, how we decided to reimagine what PR and media relations could look like, and how we built an agency model and process that helped us stay small and boutique, but also mighty.
As the line between public and private life continues to thin, we are seeing a shift in how the industry’s elite navigate travel. In an era dominated by hyper-connectivity, smartphone cameras and instant social media exposure, anonymity has become a luxury few can access. Even the world’s most exclusive hotels are no longer immune to crowded lobbies, geotags or constant digital gaze. For high-profile individuals, the standard hotel experience now means unwanted public visibility. Consequently, affluent travelers are increasingly bypassing traditional luxury resorts in favor of a total buyout method.
In 2026, art has transcended decor to become one of the most compelling ways to understand a destination’s identity. Data from Grand View Research (GVR) points to a growing demand for travel rooted in culture, history, and creative expression. According to GVR, the heritage tourism market was estimated at $624.55 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $936.97 billion by 2033. Similarly, GVR also showed the art tourism market was estimated at $45.22 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $54.44 billion by 2033.
With International Women’s Month approaching this March, in REYA we wanted to highlight a group of visionary women who are redefining the world’s top luxury destinations. These leaders are proving that the best travel experiences start with a distinct, feminine point of view. This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” celebrates the power of intentional giving. Within the luxury sector, these women embody this through purposeful design, managing properties by “giving” their heritage, maternal instinct, and strategic brilliance, to “gain” a more profound experience for their guests.
Many hotels and cruises are expanding their beverage programs to compliment their top-shelf labels with their own original spirits. By offering exclusive batches of whiskey, gin, aguardientes, rum, or wine; these properties are going beyond the standard curated collection to offer guests a taste you genuinely cannot find anywhere else. By prioritizing local sourcing and ancestral methods, these properties are redefining the guest experience while empowering local artisans. These standout properties are giving travelers an entirely unique taste of the region through signature house pours
Lately, we’ve been asked the same question over and over by our international clients and industry friends: “How is the U.S. luxury travel market looking?” And who can blame anyone for wondering? Between the headlines, the politics, and the economic chatter, it would be easy to assume people are closing their wallets and staying put.
But here’s the truth: they’re not. In fact, affluent Americans are doubling down on travel.
A quiet shift is transforming the way American families travel. According to the newly released 2025 U.S. Family Travel Survey from the Family Travel Association and NYU SPS Tisch Center of Hospitality, a new generation of parents are eager to explore more often, more meaningfully, and with their children as active
co-creators of each journey. Here, we take a closer look at the data and highlight the travel brands that are embracing this moment with offerings designed to delight multigenerational travelers.
At REYA Communications, we believe the future of travel is being shaped by women whose vision transcends borders. Our ongoing series, Spotlighting Visionary Women in Travel, celebrates leaders who are redefining hospitality through creativity, authenticity, and purpose. Among these trailblazers is Sheila Kyarisiima, the founder of The Pinnacle Kigali and one of the few Black women leading in Africa’s luxury hospitality space.
World Tourism Day is commemorated annually on September 27 to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of travel and its social, cultural, political, and economic value. This year's theme celebrates sustainable transformation and REYA is proud to highlight the profound impact of sustainability in tourism and celebrate our clients who are committed to these values. From the depths of the Amazon to the vast African savannahs and the peaks of the Swiss Alps, luxury travel today is not only about discovery and comfort, it’s about taking responsibility.
As global travelers seek deeper connection, cultural richness, and meaningful discovery, 2026 is shaping up to be a year of elevated and intentional travel. From under-the-radar luxury in the Canadian Rockies to conservation-driven safaris in East Africa, REYA Communications reveals its curated list of the top six destinations to watch in 2026, each backed by compelling new openings, unforgettable experiences, and "why now" moments sure to land on the year's most anticipated "Where to Go" lists.
As the last warm days of summer give way to crisp mornings and golden light, North America begins its most breathtaking transformation. From the amber-drenched Hudson Valley to the golden larch trails of Alberta and the aurora-kissed forests of Alaska’s Chugach National Forest, fall offers an irresistible invitation to slow down and soak in the season’s natural splendor. For travelers seeking the perfect blend of autumn adventure and high-end comfort, these destinations deliver.
As AI becomes more deeply integrated into how travelers research and book trips, one thing remains clear: credibility and trust still matter. For years, awards from trusted publications like Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler have helped travelers navigate a sea of options. In today’s AI-driven landscape, where discovery is guided by algorithms, voice assistants, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), these accolades now serve a much bigger purpose.
At REYA, we’ve always believed that great storytelling deserves to be heard, not just by algorithms, but by real people seeking inspiration, connection, and trust. As the media and search landscape evolves at warp speed, we know it can feel overwhelming, especially for boutique and independent travel brands trying to compete with legacy brands with deeper marketing budgets. The truth is: the way consumers discover brands is changing fast. We’re not just seeing shifts in how people search, we’re seeing a full-on transformation in who is answering those questions.
Google is now indexing Instagram content. That’s not just a social media update, it’s a digital strategy gamechanger. At REYA Communications, we work at the intersection of PR, digital discoverability, and the future of brand storytelling. As platforms evolve, so do the pathways to visibility. And the latest shift? It’s a big one. Google’s announcement that it will start indexing Instagram posts, including those published by brands, signals a new era of opportunity for boutique and independent travel brands. Particularly when it comes to earned media amplification.

With global temperatures on the rise and popular cities bracing for record tourism—Rome alone is expecting over 30 million pilgrims in 2025 for the Jubilee—savvy travelers are thinking beyond the usual suspects. Italy, France, and other summer staples still dazzle, but the combination of extreme heat, crowded attractions, and limited air conditioning in historic buildings can put a damper on the dream. This year, consider heading where the air is crisp, the landscapes unspoiled, and the luxury hospitality as unforgettable as the setting.
2025 marks an important landmark in mountain gorilla conservation: it is the 100th anniversary of the creation of Virunga National Park in the Congo - originally called Albert National Park - in 1925. The National Park territory incorporated the area around the extinct volcanoes of Mikeno, Karisimbi and Visoke, the mountain gorilla habitat in Congo, as well as the wildlife area of the Rwindi Plains to the north.

Luxury is personalisation. It’s attention to detail, the kind of care that feels intuitive and indulgent. It’s going above and beyond to create memories that linger long after check-out. Often overlooked and always discreet, concierges are the ultimate insiders. They have exclusive insight into their destination and the unique capability to transform any stay into an extraordinary experience. At REYA, we understand that today's most discerning travelers seek bespoke experiences—those once-in-a-lifetime moments that transform a trip into a story worth telling.
