Delfin Amazon Cruises Unveils a New Chapter
Woven By Nature, Crafted For You
Iquitos, Peru, (June 10, 2025): In 2025, Delfin Amazon Cruises sets sail with more than a renewed vessel, it reveals a revitalized identity. Woven by nature and crafted with intention, Delfin’s brand evolution celebrates nearly two decades of pioneering luxury in the heart of the Amazon, while embracing a deeper purpose: to preserve, inspire, and reconnect.
Each journey onboard Delfin is a tapestry of immersive discovery, where every guest becomes part of something unique guided through the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve as a trusted guest welcomed into the family. Now, with a new visual identity and refined brand promise, Delfin reaffirms its essence: authenticity, sustainability, connection. As the first Relais & Châteaux river cruise in the world, Delfin shares the association’s values of hospitality, heritage, and harmony with nature. These shared principles are woven into every aspect of the guest experience, creating a journey defined not only by elegance, but by meaning.
This isn’t a rebrand. It’s a reaffirmation of everything Delfin has stood for since its founding by Aldo Macchiavello and Lissy Urteaga in 2006, and everything it envisions for the future. Delfin is proud to be a true pioneer, nearly 20 years since its first boutique vessel set sail, it remains the only Peruvian-owned company of its kind. The Amazon is not just their destination; it’s their home. This deep-rooted connection drives everything they do, from their commitment to local communities to the belief that authentic luxury must also be responsible.
“We don’t curate the wilderness. We listen to it. We don’t offer distraction. We offer depth,” says Lissy Urteaga, Co-Founder and Creative Director. “This evolution honors the Amazon’s rhythms while weaving in the voices of the communities who’ve lived here for generations.”
A New Look, The Same Heart

These visuals and words reflect intimacy, reverence, and a sense of place and a new digital home.

Delfin I
The return of the Delfin I is more than a renovation, it is a celebration of family, heritage, and the extraordinary beauty of the Amazon. With every voyage, Delfin Amazon Cruises reaffirms its commitment to authentic Peruvian hospitality and creating meaningful connections between guests and the rainforest. The boutique size of the Delfin I allows greater access in the low water season than the larger vessels, setting the Delfin I apart from its competitors while also leaving a smaller footprint. The boat’s design is a balance between luxury, comfort and Peruvian style created by a 100% Peruvian team. This boutique and exclusive experience is reflected in every detail, from ship design to onboard rituals. The newly reimagined Delfin I, launched this April, is a floating expression of the brand’s ethos: handcrafted Amazonian elegance, sustainable innovation, and serene intimacy. With only four oversized suites, two of them featuring private whirlpools, and all with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows, the Delfin I offers the ultimate in exclusivity and immersion. Refined finishes include locally sourced hardwoods, artisanal textiles, and bespoke furniture pieces created in collaboration with Amazonian artists.
On the top deck, guests can unwind in a newly designed lounge area, savor handcrafted cocktails at the bar, and stargaze under some of the world’s clearest night skies. These enhancements reflect Delfin’s unwavering commitment to offering elevated, intimate experiences in harmony with the natural environment. The vessel’s new solar panels generate clean energy, furthering Delfin’s dedication to sustainability and responsible tourism in the Amazon. Whether booked suite by suite or as a private floating villa, the Delfin I offers a serene retreat that combines privacy, authenticity, and sustainability.
Elevated Culinary Experiences
The Delfin I culinary team has curated a flexitarian menu that delights the palate while promoting sustainability. Featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the menu includes plant-based options as part of UNESCO and Relais & Châteaux’s initiative to support sustainable food systems. Guests will enjoy flavors that celebrate the Amazon’s biodiversity while indulging in the creativity of Delfin’s culinary artisans.
Introducing NAUTA: Delfin’s First Leisurewear Collection
Delfin Amazon Cruises is proud to introduce NAUTA, its first Amazonian leisurewear collection, an evocative fusion of heritage, nature, and conscious design. Created by Giuliana Macchiavello, daughter of Delfin’s founders and founder of the creative studio Jardín Azul, NAUTA is a deeply personal project. Each piece is inspired by her childhood immersed in the rhythms of the Amazon and designed as a wearable memory of the rainforest.
“I wanted each piece to feel like a wearable memory of the Amazon, peaceful, grounded, and alive with color,” says Giuliana, whose vision blends storytelling and sustainability in elegant harmony.
Thoughtfully crafted for Delfin guests, the NAUTA collection combines comfort, function, and beauty. Lightweight cottons and SPF50 fabrics suit both jungle excursions and refined evenings onboard, while the silhouettes echo the calm, fluid motion of the river. The palette—forest greens, warm terracottas, and twilight pastels—draws directly from the Amazon’s ever-changing canvas.
NAUTA is more than a fashion line. It’s an invitation to live more mindfully. Each garment reflects Delfin’s ongoing commitment to conservation and cultural preservation. As the collection evolves, Giuliana envisions expanding collaborations with local artisans, weaving their ancestral techniques and stories into every thread.
With NAUTA, guests can carry a piece of the Amazon with them long after their journey ends
About Delfin Amazon Cruises:
Delfin Amazon Cruises was launched in early 2006 by its founder and CEO, Aldo Macchiavello. The company is the culmination of a dream shared with his wife, Lissy Urteaga, to run a boutique travel business that should showcase the natural beauty of their country, Peru. Delfin Amazon Cruises sets the highest standards for impeccable 5-star hospitality, authentic Peruvian design, and superb local cuisine. The Delfin I, II, and III effortlessly combine comfort and grace with the breathtaking wilderness setting of the Amazon. Each vessel thrives in harmony with nature and their panoramic suites and terraces offer guests a special “non-cruise” atmosphere with the opportunity to explore one of the world’s most pristine environments. Deep in the Peruvian Amazon, the boutique luxury vessels take guests on three and four-night itineraries into one of the world’s largest protected flooded forests, the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Experienced naturalist guides and experts showcase the immense biodiversity of the area with excursions and activities that include visits to local villages, kayaking, swimming near pink river dolphins, fishing, daytime hiking, and night safaris.
