and Month-Long Activities for ‘Merry Alyeska'
Girdwood, Alaska (October 1, 2024): Alaska’s largest mountain resort, Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, celebrates the magic of the holiday season, inviting travelers to come ski, celebrate, and be merry! A winter playground, Alyeska Resort offers 1,610 skiable acres and 76 trails, including North America's longest double black diamond run, glacier-filled vistas, and amazing Northern Lights sightings. Alyeska Resort is Alaska’s premier ski resort, featuring 299 rooms, a 40-passenger aerial scenic tram, an indoor saltwater pool, and seven dining offerings, including Seven Glaciers, the resort’s AAA Four Diamond Award restaurant with unparalleled views overlooking seven hanging glaciers. Festive Season Experiences
Alyeska Resort promises an unforgettable festive season filled with exciting events and unique stay packages. Kicking off the first weekend of December and running through the New Year, this month-long celebration is packed with family-friendly activities, including live music at The Sitzmark, the annual Ullr Fest—celebrating winter with bonfires, Viking hats, and snow-loving festivities—and new this year, a Nordic Noel Holiday Market, featuring local vendors, sled dog rides, food and beverages, festive music and holiday crafts. The Santa Skis Free Day on December 18th invites guests to hit the slopes dressed as their favorite holiday character for a complimentary lift ticket, while the traditional New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade & Fireworks will light up the sky as the resort rings in 2025.
For a true Alaska winter adventure, dog mushing will also be available during the holidays, weather permitting. Guests can enjoy an exhilarating ride with professional Iditarod racers and their Alaskan Huskies, followed by a warm-up around a cozy fire. Other festive highlights to celebrate the Christmas season include Skate with Santa, Elf Tales Storybook reading, and a Christmas buffet. Santa and Mrs. Claus, accompanied by their reindeer Snowflake and Blizzard, will also make a grand entrance via snowcat on December 20th for photos and family fun while supporting the Girdwood Food Pantry through charitable donations.
Holiday Stay Packages:
Home Not Alone: This fun holiday package is sure to make you want to stay in, ‘eat junk, and watch rubbish’ like Kevin McCallister in the famous Home Alone movie. Inspired by the iconic Home Alone franchise, the "Home NOT Alone" package available from November 28, 2024, through January 5, 2025 at Alyeska includes a $10 charitable donation to the Girdwood Food Pantry and allows guests the opportunity to enjoy an in-room movie, a delicious cheese pizza and an amazing ice cream sundae with all the fixings delivered directly to your room for a relaxing evening in and you can tell them to, “Keep the change ya filthy animal.”
Stay & Play: Guests can stay longer, and ski longer, with the Stay & Play accommodations package. Book this package and receive every 5th night free, two adult full-day lift tickets per night stayed, a $250 food and beverage credit per stay, and valet parking for one vehicle. This offer is available for stays from December 1, 2024, through April 27, 2025.
Spa & Stay: Treat yourself to a spa getaway that soothes and rejuvenates the body and mind. Set within the jaw-dropping scenery of the Chugach mountains surrounded by the northernmost rainforest, experience Alaska’s first Nordic Spa and enjoy hydrotherapy’s benefits as you disconnect to reconnect. This package includes a guest room hotel accommodation at Alyeska Resort and Two (2) Hydrotherapy Access passes at Alyeska Nordic Spa per night stay, valid during your stay. Black Diamond Club: New for the 2024/25 ski season is the debut of Alyeska Resort’s new Black Diamond Club, a luxury offering of premium accommodations, services, and exclusive amenities. The new Black Diamond Club (BDC) takes over the resort’s top floor, accessible only to guests with keycard access, offering privacy and exclusivity. The renovation includes 36 newly appointed rooms with styles ranging from the 325 sq. ft. club rooms to a 1,971 sq. ft. glacier presidential suite, each outfitted with a 50-inch smart screen television, Nespresso machine, Dyson hair dryer, luxury jersey robes and slippers, bathroom amenities by Bamford, luxury linens and a pillow menu to cater to individual sleep style. The BDC’s exclusive lounge offers the resort’s most premium views with vistas of its surrounding glaciers and Chugach mountains. From here, guests have access to a private concierge to arrange daily activities on and off the property and a VIP Ski Valet in the winter. A dedicated lounge will also extend daily complimentary breakfast and afternoon après cocktails and refreshments exclusive to BDC guests. Prices for the Black Diamond Club for the 2024/2025 ski season start at $699 for a club room and $3,499 for the presidential suite.
