Summer Adventures and Events at Alyeska Resort Return
as new ‘GREATLAND’ Bar & Lounge Debuts in June
Black Diamond Club celebrates first Anniversary with new VIP experience
Girdwood, Alaska (June 14, 2025): Alyeska Resort ushers in the 2025 summer travel season with the grand opening of their second floor GREATLAND Bar & Lounge, offering alpine views, Alaska fare and curated cocktails along with an exciting lineup of new experiences and elevated mountain adventures.
At the heart of Alyeska Resort, the all-new GREATLAND Bar & Lounge opens this June. Framed by the panoramic views of the Chugach Mountains and anchored by a dramatic stone hearth, this stylish lounge offers curated cocktails, a raw bar of Alaska inspired plates, warm hospitality, and a cozy-meets-contemporary ambiance. GREATLAND pays tribute to Alaska’s vast natural beauty and cultural heritage, making it the perfect spot to relax and connect after a day of exploration.
Alyeska’s adrenaline-pumping Bike Park reopens June 14 to September 7, operating weekends with lift-assisted downhill trails for all levels. Riders can explore a dynamic network of gravity-fed trails, cruise flowing berms, navigate wooden features, or test their grit on technical terrain, all while immersed in Alaska’s breathtaking alpine scenery accessible by chair lift. Whether a seasoned rider chasing adrenaline or a newcomer eager for a first descent, the Alyeska Bike Park combines breathtaking scenery with nonstop action, making every run a heart-pounding adventure. Bike park tickets and season passes can be purchased here.
Opening July 25- September 15 (weather permitting), the Veilbreaker Skybridges invite brave explorers to cross two suspension bridges stretching 410 feet long and 2,500 feet above the valley floor. With expert guides, safety gear, and jaw-dropping views of Turnagain Arm and seven “hanging” glaciers, this 2–3 hour adventure redefines bucket-list-worthy experiences in Alaska. Bookings are now open for this summer season.
Aerial Tram
Alyeska’s aerial tram holds 40 passengers and ascends 2,300 ft in elevation. From the tram, guests can view the Turnagain Arm, up to seven “hanging” glaciers, endless peaks deep into the Chugach Mountain range and the stunning fall colors and wildlife. The ride takes about seven minutes and stops at the Upper Tram Terminal on the mountain. Tickets can be purchased here.
Alyeska Resort recommends over 12 hiking trails on Mount Alyeska and offers an interactive map on its website to display the level of difficulty and further details about each hike. The North Face Trail is especially stunning, ascending the 2,000 vertical foot slope of ski terrain for 2.2 miles straight from the hotel. Many participants will stop at the hike’s peak for a drink and a bite to eat at the Bore Tide Deli & Bar. Hikers can then opt to take a complimentary aerial tram ride back down the mountain, which is great for those who cannot hike downhill or simply would like a scenic break. The Winner Creek Trail is a great option for a more family-friendly hike. Beginning at the base of the aerial tram, Winner Creek Trail is the most accessible hiking trail Alyeska offers. The trail takes hikers across a boardwalk surface and into a dirt path, winding its way through the lush rainforest with minimal elevation gain. There are countless other hiking trails to explore along Turnagain Arm and the Kenai Peninsula.
To mark its one-year anniversary, Alyeska’s exclusive Black Diamond Club introduces a VIP heli-tour. Guests will soar above the Chugach Range and toast with champagne atop a glacier. With 36 elegantly appointed rooms and a private lounge, the Club offers premier service, dedicated concierge access, gourmet après, and more.
