Go2Africa Launches “Adventures in Africa,” a New Collection of Movement-Led Travel Experiences

What is Go2Africa announcing?

Go2Africa has launched “Adventures in Africa,” a new collection of curated journeys that combine traditional safari travel with active, adventure-led experiences across the continent.

The collection responds to growing traveler demand for trips that go beyond standard game drives, offering deeper engagement through trail running, mountain biking, trekking, rafting, gorilla tracking, and conservation-based expeditions.

What is movement-led travel?

Movement-led travel refers to journeys where physical activity becomes part of how travelers connect with a destination. Instead of observing landscapes only from a vehicle, guests move through them by foot, bike, raft, or trail.

These experiences are designed to create a stronger connection to Africa’s wildlife, landscapes, communities, and conservation efforts.

What types of adventures are included?

The “Adventures in Africa” collection includes three broad styles of travel:

Slow sensory journeys: Experiences designed for travelers who want to move at a slower pace and connect with nature through silence, wildlife, and landscape immersion.

Movement with meaning: Adventure experiences linked to conservation and community-led initiatives, where guest participation supports local impact.

High-performance endurance challenges: More physically demanding routes across remote terrain, designed for travelers seeking active, challenging, and transformative experiences.

What are the featured Go2Africa adventures for 2026 and beyond?

Mountain Biking at Few & Far Luvhondo, South Africa

This experience takes place in the Soutpansberg Range, known as the “Forgotten Mountains.” Riders follow moderate to demanding trails through red rock cliffs, baobab forests, wildlife habitats, and Venda cultural landscapes.

Okavango to Tsodilo Ultra-Trail, Botswana

Launching in April 2026, this 100 km, four-night expedition connects two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Okavango Delta region and Tsodilo Hills.

Participants travel through the Okavango Panhandle, Kalahari scrub, and fossilized dunes, with a sleep-out camp hosted by the local San Bushman community. The non-competitive journey supports local youth development.

Ubumwe Women’s Trail, Rwanda

Scheduled for February 2027, this all-women’s event near Volcanoes National Park includes a 15 to 18 km run, gorilla trekking, and a hike to Dian Fossey’s original Karisoke Research Center.

Proceeds support the Fossey Fund’s Village Vitality Project, which helps empower local women through education, entrepreneurship, and financial planning.

Gorilla Trekking at Erebero Hills, Uganda

Opening in August 2026 on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Erebero Hills will offer a sustainable base for gorilla trekking. The lodge sits on 45 acres of reforested land and is designed to connect travelers with Uganda’s natural landscape.

Run the Wild at Ol Pejeta, Kenya

This experience allows guests to run with rangers through Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Limited to six guests per run, the 5 to 7 km route offers direct insight into conservation work while supporting wildlife protection, ranger patrols, research, and rhino conservation.

White-Water Rafting at Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls offers high-adrenaline rafting on the Zambezi River, especially during the August to September low-water season. Guests navigate rapids, including Grade 5 sections, while exploring the dramatic Batoka Gorge.

Why is Go2Africa launching Adventures in Africa now?

Travelers are increasingly seeking active, meaningful journeys that combine wildlife, culture, physical challenge, and purpose. Go2Africa’s new collection reflects this shift by offering experiences that are personal, immersive, and connected to conservation and community wellbeing.

Who is Adventures in Africa designed for?

The collection is suited for:

  • Active travelers looking beyond traditional safari

  • Adventure travelers interested in Africa

  • Conservation-minded guests

  • Runners, cyclists, hikers, and trekkers

  • Travelers seeking community-led experiences

  • Guests who want to combine safari with physical challenge or deeper cultural immersion

How does this fit into Go2Africa’s travel approach?

Go2Africa has spent more than 25 years building trusted partnerships and local expertise across Africa. “Adventures in Africa” expands that legacy by creating journeys that connect travelers more directly with landscapes, wildlife, and communities.
