New York, NY (December xx, 2021) The Lodges at Knapp Ranch, a conservation-focused family-owned ranch opening May 2022 in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, has appointed REYA Communications (REYA) as their marketing and communications agency for their global launch.

As the agency for travel brands with a commitment to conservation and sustainability, REYA’s expertise in the field of luxury travel and CSR positioning, operations, and marketing was the perfect match for Knapp Ranch, a leader in land preservation in Colorado launching their first hospitality venture. REYA has built a reputation of successfully working with family-owned hotels and operators, developing an intimate working relationship built on efficient and effective strategies for small businesses and shared passions. REYA will provide pre-opening consulting, branding and creative services, web and social media management, and international media relations.

“It’s always exciting for us to work with a family to develop their hospitality dream, and turn it into a reality. From branding to positioning to website to social to their first guests on property, we’re working with them every step of the way. We’ve always positioned ourselves to work with travel brands providing the best in service to their guests, but also their communities and environments. Working with Knapp Ranch allows us to continue to promote responsible tourism to Colorado, one of our favorite destinations.” says REYA’s co-founder, Alexandra Avila.

Set on 270+ acres outside Vail Valley in Colorado, Knapp Ranch exists as a study in elevated, original land stewardship and is a culmination of Betsy and Bud Knapp’s dedication to their home as a work of art and personal expression. Betsy and Bud Knapp are the former owners and publishers of Architectural Digest and Bon Appetit magazines and serial entrepreneurs, innovators, and philanthropists. In the 1990’s they left the world of publishing to pursue a lifelong dream of living in a remote valley in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Since purchasing this property over 20 years ago, the Knapp Family has been focused on rehabilitating the land to preserve it for generations to follow.

In early 2022, Knapp Ranch, nestled amid a dramatic Western landscape, will debut The Lodges at Knapp Ranch, exclusive luxury accommodations, while continuing its vision for the future which includes the land being used to pursue education, culture, sustainable agriculture, and place-based learning. The three cabins and a main lodge accommodate up to 16 guests and the experience includes outdoor adventure guides, a concierge, a personal chef preparing farm-grown products and gourmet Colorado fare with premium wine pairings, guided hiking and ski adventures, gear, private transportation to the ranch and a chance to enjoy life beneath the Colorado Peaks. Year-round activities on-site include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, yoga, cooking classes, forest bathing, and more.

“For the last 20 years, Knapp Ranch has been committed to preserving this land, our home, under the Colorado peaks.  As we decided to enter into hospitality, we knew we needed expert guidance, but also an agency that aligns with our passion for conservation and understood our family-run dynamic. REYA was the perfect fit to lead Knapp Ranch into this next chapter, while strategically and responsibly sharing it with others,” shares Bud Knapp, Owner.

Beginning in 1994, The Knapp Family redeveloped the land as a living environment built around a vision of stewardship, responsible land use, sustainability, and preservation. Skilled artisans, architects, and craftsmen carefully chose the elements and unique design for the lodges which were representative of the materials and techniques used in that time period. The Knapp Family has created an example of world-class production in small-scale high elevation agriculture that has made Knapp Ranch a leading example of sustainable living now and into the future. Dedicated to preserving the beauty and health of the land, water, and wildlife, they also use the property to study the effects of climate change. Entrepreneurs by nature, the Knapp Family currently operates as a sustainable farm producing items for its retail farmstand, Knapp Harvest in Eagle, Knapp Garden Center, Osage Gardens, and Knapp’s Nectar, managing beehives throughout the valley for pollination and honey production used for culinary and medicinal purposes. Ranch operations and research focus on adaptable and regenerative sustainable farming and land-based management technologies related to organic food production, high altitude ecosystems and water conservation, long-term climate change, best land-use practices, environmental education, as well as architectural history.

Knapp Ranch has partnered with REYA, which has garnered global recognition for its success with brands rooted in conservation, sustainability, and social impact. Founded by Travel PR veterans Alexandra Avila and Julie Leventhal, REYA combines their passions for working with independent and family-owned hotels and operators, while promoting and safeguarding the people, wildlife, and landscapes that make it so unique. Avila was honored in 2020 as a “Top Woman in PR” by PR News for leveraging her media expertise to support and drive sustainable tourism through storytelling.
